pBt is moving to TypePad

Good Afternoon

I am moving my efforts over to TypePad. In my continuing effort to understand the nuts and bolts of blooging, I am now going to explore TypePad and what it has to offer. You can check in over there by clicking here.

I will eventually get comfortable enough with this stuff to move away from the hosted blogs and create my own using MoveableType and my wizrd-like skill in DHTML and CSS. Once I achieve wizard-like skill, of course.

Hope to see you over there to catch up on my progress ('cause not much is going to happen here anymore. Not like much has happened recently any how.)

ciao!

Not much to report - doing taxes

To all those crying for a simplified taxt code: We translate that as [insert whine here] "The government makes it soooooo complicated to keep more of what is mine."

I did my taxes today. And it was complictated. Well...it was as complicated as answering a bunch of 'Yes' or "No' questions. And the under-employed have it even more complicated - the 1040-EZ is almost an entire page if you count the name, address and soc sec number. [Insert ironic tone here] Yeah...that calls for simplification.

Actually, the call for simplification is called loudest by those that are looking to hide/offset/disguise their earnings from the gov'ment. I found today's exercise rather rewarding. I pay taxes every paycheck. At the end of the year, I get a little bit back. For those wanks earning six figures and calling for a simplified tax code I say, "If you weren't trying to cheat the system, the tax code is really quite simple."

For me 4/15 is like another birthday. It's not a moment to kvetch about how much money I give the government. In fact, it's a chance to feel proud that I gave our governemt a few thousand dollars and they turned around and said, "Yeah, we didn't need all that. Here's some back."

So, on this moment of tax reflection, I say enjoy. Pay your taxes throughout the year and get a little back at the end of the process. For those that want more of a refund or don't want to spend an hour at the end of the year with a calculator and some receipts, I say, "tough...quit being selfish and do your civic duty."

Quote of the day

From the expert on intelligence:

"America's intelligence community needs fundamental change to successfully confront the threats of the 21st century." -- GWB

Hmmm...sounds like good strategery to me.

Buried beneath all the Pope coverage is a story that confirms what we all already knew - that this administration knows nothing. Yep. That's right. Another report that our intelligence about WMD in Iraq was flawed. They do know something, tho. They know plenty about how to hide they fact that they know nothing.

Prole Blog has new art!

Hi folks. Been lax in the postings for two days, but look at what's happened! Prole Blog Threat has a new masthead. Now, remember, I'm a designer. I'm not a programmer. So, it took me 13 minutes to design the masthead (and yes, those are my feet). It took me three days to figure out how to integrate it into the code.

But, it's done. Since I don't post during work hours, I have a bunch of catching up to do (I can see how people do this full-time). Look for several new posts in Direct Action regarding Greenpeace, Frist's "Nuclear Option" and another reason to love Apple, Inc.

Look for more playlists in Music and an update in Art. It's all coming. Just bear with me.

A New Day. Still Building

If you look to the right, I have added categories for the various topics on this site. After all that, hours of driving and a few wines, it's time for bed.

Is it just me, or was this last Carnivale a bit of a rip-off.
